About the course
UNSW’s Master of Cyber Security is designed to build advanced capabilities to protect systems, networks and data in modern organisations. You’ll study key technical and governance aspects of cyber security and develop practical skills to identify vulnerabilities, manage risk and respond to threats. The program supports progression into specialist cyber roles and professional practice in IT & Computer Science at master’s level. The programme deepens expertise in software architecture, data systems, and emerging technologies for advanced IT leadership.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across government, consulting and industry where cyber risk and resilience are critical. Typical pathways include cyber security analyst, security engineer, incident responder, penetration tester, security consultant, governance/risk/compliance (GRC) specialist and security operations roles.
