About the course
UNE’s Master of Counselling is an accredited, flexibly delivered program grounded in a humanistic approach that prioritises the person rather than symptoms. It builds on prior study or professional experience to develop advanced knowledge and practical counselling skills, supporting reflective and ethical practice. The course is designed to help you prepare for work as a professional counsellor in diverse settings through Master-level coursework in counselling.

Graduates may pursue counselling roles across community services, health and mental health supports, education, youth and family services, and private practice environments. The program supports development toward professional counselling practice with skills in empathetic communication, reflective practice and client-focused intervention. Entry is based on a bachelor qualification or above (or overseas equivalent), or recent relevant professional experience.
