About the course
This postgraduate counselling course prepares you to support individuals, families and communities across diverse settings including health care, education, not-for-profit and private practice. You develop evidence-based therapeutic skills for areas such as youth and families, wellbeing, telehealth, chronic conditions, addictions, grief and loss, disability and priority communities. Competency-based training with supervised industry placements is embedded to build practical clinical capability at master’s level in behavioural health counselling.
Career outcome
Graduates can contribute to improved mental health and behavioural health outcomes in a range of services and community settings. You may work in counselling roles across public and private health, community and not-for-profit organisations, education, and private practice, supporting clients with issues such as chronic illness, addiction, grief, disability and family challenges. This master’s qualification supports progression toward professional counselling practice in behavioural health contexts.
