About the course
This course introduces key ideas and practices in community development to help you create and support community-led change in Australia and internationally. Designed for community practitioners and graduates, it uses real projects and creative case-based learning across areas such as cultural development, sustainability and activism. You can undertake an internship and complete an independent research project in community development at master’s level. The programme develops advanced psychological assessment, intervention planning, and evidence-based practice for professional settings.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across community and social services, local and state government, NGOs and humanitarian or international development organisations. The course supports pathways into community engagement, planning and sustainable development work, including roles such as community arts/development coordinator, engagement officer, policy advisor, international aid worker, and place/activation officer. These outcomes align with advanced practice in community development at master’s level.
