About the course
QUT’s Master of Business (Professional Accounting) is designed for graduates with no prior accounting background who want to build a professional accounting career. You’ll develop core knowledge across financial reporting, management accounting, auditing, taxation and financial management, alongside digital capability and analytical skills. The course includes hands-on exposure to contemporary accounting and tax software and industry-informed teaching in a master’s level accounting discipline.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue accounting and finance roles across corporate, public sector and professional services settings. Typical pathways include financial or management accountant, auditor, taxation or business advisory roles, and positions supporting financial reporting and decision-making. The program is structured to meet requirements for recognition by key professional accounting bodies (subject to unit selection), supporting progression toward professional membership in the master’s level accounting discipline.
