About the course
This course prepares you for advanced practice in clinical psychology, supporting the two-year higher degree pathway toward clinical psychology endorsement. Built on a scientist-practitioner model, it develops systematic assessment and intervention skills for diverse clients across the lifespan. You learn through coursework, research and extensive supervised practicum, including multiple placements in on-campus and external settings, as a Masters qualification in Psychology.
What you might learn
You’ll develop skills in clinical assessment, interviewing, diagnosis and test administration, and build capability in psychotherapy and evidence-based clinical practice. Study includes approaches for working effectively with children, families and adults in diverse social and cultural contexts, assessment and treatment of mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions, and effective collaboration and communication with other professionals in clinical planning and interventions.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for roles delivering assessment, treatment and evidence-based interventions, with strong research and evaluation capability valued across health services. Career pathways include private practice as a registered psychologist or clinical psychologist, and roles in public and private organisations such as hospitals, community mental health services, justice, education and disability services. This Masters supports professional practice in clinical Psychology.
