About the course
This course will prepare you for a career as an actuary. To provide professional actuarial advice in Australia, and in most other developed countries, you must become a Fellow of the actuarial profession. This involves developing basic technical skills, learning how to apply these skills in a general setting, developing deep specialist knowledge and completing several years of work experience. The programme strengthens financial analysis, governance, audit, and investment decision-making for professional finance careers.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue actuarial and quantitative roles in life, general and health insurance, superannuation and enterprise risk. Career pathways also extend to investment operations with asset managers, banks and brokers, and to financial consulting supporting pricing, forecasting and strategic planning. The degree can also lead to government and regulatory roles such as workers’ compensation, policy analysis and compliance. Outcomes align with a combined bachelor and masters-level pathway in actuarial science.
