About the course
The Master of Actuarial Practice at ANU is a 120-unit postgraduate program designed for students who want to apply advanced mathematics to real-world financial and commercial risk. You’ll study actuarial modelling, financial mathematics, statistics and risk management, supported by a wide choice of electives across areas such as finance, econometrics and computing. This is a master’s qualification focused on actuarial practice and professional preparation. The programme strengthens financial analysis, governance, audit, and investment decision-making for professional finance careers.
What you might learn
You will build skills in analysing data, modelling uncertainty and quantifying financial and insurance risks using actuarial and statistical methods. The program develops capability in stochastic processes, life contingencies, regression and survival modelling, and applying the actuarial control cycle to complex problems. You’ll strengthen analytical judgement and communication needed to interpret models and advise stakeholders in actuarial practice at master’s level.
