About the course
QUT’s University Preparation Program (UPP) is a free pathway designed to build the academic confidence and study skills needed for university learning. Delivered at Kelvin Grove over two semesters, you’ll develop skills in academic communication, mathematics, digital capability, research and writing, while getting support and advice to plan your next study step. This Foundation Studies program helps you transition into QUT diploma and bachelor degrees. The programme develops academic skills and education fundamentals for teaching-related degree pathways.

UPP is an enabling pathway rather than a qualification leading directly to a profession. On successful completion, you gain a selection rank you can use to apply for entry into a range of QUT undergraduate courses, supporting progression into diploma or bachelor study.
