About the course
This tertiary preparation program is designed for international students planning to progress into undergraduate health science study. It builds academic English and professional communication for healthcare contexts while developing core health-science content knowledge. You’ll work with health terminology, culturally responsive communication, the Australian healthcare system and social determinants of health, plus critical thinking and problem solving to support successful entry to Foundation Studies in Health Sciences.
Career outcome
This program is a preparatory pathway rather than a direct professional qualification. Graduates strengthen English language and communication for patient/client interactions and gain foundational understanding of health science concepts and the Australian healthcare context. Completion can support progression into selected ACU undergraduate health degrees, preparing students for further training toward roles across clinical and community health settings in Foundation Studies in Health Sciences. Supporting progression into undergraduate Nursing and Health Sciences degree programmes.
