About the course
This enabling course is designed to fast-track First Nations students with secondary schooling and/or a relevant TAFE qualification into university study. You’ll build the academic skills and confidence needed for tertiary learning and, on completion, become eligible to apply for a range of Curtin degree and associate degree programs. The course also offers mentoring and support to help you plan your pathway into undergraduate study in Australia. The programme builds core academic English, study skills, and subject fundamentals for university degree entry.
What you might learn
You’ll develop core academic capabilities for university study, including critical and creative thinking, problem solving, research and information literacy, and effective communication. The course strengthens digital and technology skills, independent learning and motivation, and the ability to work ethically in teams. It also emphasises cultural awareness, respect for diversity, and exploring global and cultural perspectives to support success in tertiary education.

This course is a pathway rather than a professional qualification, preparing First Nations students to progress into Curtin undergraduate or associate degree programs.
