Equine Studies

About the course

In this Foundation Studies course, students will learn the fundamentals of University-level study in the disciplines of animal science and veterinary biosciences or the health and welfare of animals, in order for them to bridge the gap between high school and university.

What you might learn

Core subjects such as applied research methods, introduction to animal science and veterinary nursing will be undertaken for the duration of your studies. At the end of the course, students should have met the entry requirements to an undergraduate degree and be able to achieve success in their future studies.

Career outcome

Upon graduating from this program, you may be employed in roles such as Laboratory Animal Caretakers, Veterinary Assistants, Animal Care and Service Workers, Meat or poultry inspector, conservation officer, ecologist, and etc. in companies including Zoetics, Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health, Merck Animal Health, Melbourne Zoo, WWF, and etc.
