About the course
Southern Cross University’s Bachelor of Indigenous Knowledge builds understanding of Indigenous world views through the study of histories, knowledge systems, and determinants of health and wellbeing in a culturally supportive environment. You develop practical and theoretical capability in cultural protocols and Indigenous ways of knowing and being, with options to major in Indigenous Knowledge or a shared major. This is an undergraduate degree in Indigenous studies. The programme combines disciplinary knowledge, applied learning, and graduate competencies for professional career entry.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue roles that support Indigenous communities and outcomes across public, private and community sectors. Career directions can include work in government and policy, commercial or social enterprise, land and environment management, Indigenous tourism, and Aboriginal, family or environmental health programs. The degree can also provide a pathway to Honours and postgraduate study in Indigenous studies. Preparing graduates for graduate employment, professional traineeships, and further postgraduate study.
