About the course

The Diploma in Languages builds practical proficiency in a chosen language while deepening your understanding of its culture and contexts. You’ll develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills for both formal and informal situations, and can study one language in depth or combine multiple languages. The program can be taken on its own or alongside an undergraduate degree for an additional qualification in modern languages at diploma level. The programme develops classroom assistance skills, child development knowledge, and educational support practice.

Career outcome

Graduates can apply language and intercultural skills across a wide range of industries where communication with international clients, markets or communities is valued. Potential pathways include roles in commercial sectors, diplomacy and government, education, journalism, translation and interpreting, and policy-related work. Studying the diploma alongside another degree can strengthen employability by adding a second credential and applied language capability at diploma level in modern languages.
