About the course
The Diploma of Languages will provide you with the opportunity to complete a major in one of the languages offered by the University, while completing a single or double bachelor's degree. It will allow you to study your chosen language starting from a number of different entry points - whether you are an absolute beginner or have studied the language in VCE or overseas. You will also an understanding of the culture and society, history and media required to effectively communicate in a language.
Career outcome
These course outcomes are aligned with the Australian Qualifications Framework level 5 and Monash Graduate Attributes. Upon successful completion of this course it is expected that students will be able to:1. Communicate in your chosen language to a level equivalent to an undergraduate major (beginners to advanced, depending on commencement level)2. Recognise differing world views and operate within a range of cultural contexts3. Explain the cultural and historical contexts in which your chosen language is spoken.
Entry requirements
You must be enrolled in a bachelor's single or double degree at Monash University. Enrolment in this course requires approval from the student's home faculty.
