About the course

The Diploma in Health Science is a one-year pathway program that introduces you to health professions and how social, cultural, environmental and economic factors influence health and wellbeing. Delivered using Western’s modular learning model, you study one key subject at a time with workshop-style classes and additional preparatory study. Successful completion provides a pathway into second year of selected health-related bachelor degrees at Western. The programme develops laboratory safety, sample handling, and basic analytical techniques for technical roles.

Career outcome

Graduates gain practical Sciences skills for industry entry or articulation into higher qualifications. Graduates enter laboratory assistant and science technician roles. Preparing graduates for laboratory assistant, quality control, and science technician roles, or degree articulation.
