About the course
This diploma builds foundation knowledge for work in disability and community practice, focusing on inclusion, advocacy and supporting people with disability to live fulfilling lives. You will develop person-centred planning, communication and negotiation skills, and learn how disability systems and services operate. Designed as a short, job-focused qualification, it can also provide a pathway with credit into further study in disability and community inclusion. The programme introduces counselling basics, community support skills, and behavioural science fundamentals.
Career outcome
Graduates can apply their skills across disability, health and broader human services settings, supporting inclusive participation and wellbeing for people with disability. Employment may be found with disability support services, government and NDIS-related organisations, non-government agencies, and private providers, with opportunities in self-employment. This diploma prepares you for entry-level roles in disability and community support and as a pathway to further study in the field.
