About the course
QUT’s Graduate Diploma in Public Health prepares you to improve population health and wellbeing across areas such as food safety, disease control, prevention programs, health promotion and environmental health. Designed for career changers, clinicians and mid‑career professionals, you build core public health capability and can study flexibly on campus or externally, with a pathway to the Master of Public Health. This is a Graduate Diploma in Health Sciences. The programme develops advanced clinical reasoning, health leadership, and evidence-based practice for complex care environments.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles supporting population health initiatives in government, community and health services, and across industry settings. Career directions include health promotion and prevention programs, food safety and environmental health, disease control and public health surveillance, and work in policy or service improvement.
