About the course
The Diploma of Dental Technology develops the practical skills and underpinning knowledge needed to perform entry-level duties as a dental technician. You’ll learn to work safely in a laboratory environment and support the manufacture and finishing of dental prostheses and appliances using industry techniques and materials. This on-campus vocational diploma is delivered at RMIT’s Melbourne City campus. The programme builds patient care fundamentals, clinical assistance skills, and health workplace practice.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue entry-level work in dental laboratories supporting the production, repair and finishing of dental appliances and prostheses. Typical roles include dental technician assistant or dental technician (entry level), working with dentists and dental specialists to help deliver patient outcomes. This qualification prepares you for vocational employment in the dentistry sector through a hands-on diploma pathway. Preparing graduates for nursing assistant, care worker, and clinical support roles, or degree articulation.
