About the course
This Advanced Diploma develops high-level technique and artistry for dancers aiming to work in professional companies, commercial productions or competitive settings. Delivered through WAAPA, the course provides intensive, advanced training with a ballet focus, building technical, creative and conceptual skills through classes and performance opportunities. Study covers ballet, pointe, pas de deux, solos, contemporary technique, choreography, dance history, fitness and performance psychology.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue performance pathways in professional ballet and dance companies, as well as commercial stage and screen work and competitive dance environments. The course supports development of advanced technique, artistic expression and professional readiness through intensive studio training and performance experience. It can also provide preparation for further training, including progression to additional university-level dance study for those seeking a Bachelor qualification in dance.
