About the course
This Diploma of Surveying builds advanced skills for engineering and geodetic surveying work. You’ll learn to collect and process GNSS data, set out surveys, create engineering drawings and complete complex surveying computations. Training includes using sophisticated surveying equipment and software for more complex projects such as road design, plus planning spatial data collection and other industry-focused electives. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.
Career outcome
Graduates can support surveying teams across engineering, infrastructure and mining-related projects. Skills in GNSS data collection, survey set-out, computations and producing drawings and maps suit roles assisting with field and office surveying tasks. Typical outcomes include working as a surveying assistant and contributing to spatial data collection, mapping and mine drawing activities in relevant organisations. Preparing graduates for engineering technician, draftsperson, and technical service roles, or degree articulation.
