About the course
This Chemical Engineering specialisation introduces process engineering concepts, focusing on selecting and optimising chemical and physical processing operations to transform raw materials into higher-value products. You’ll study how processes and equipment are developed, designed and managed for extraction, conversion and upgrading using physical, chemical and biological operations. It is a postgraduate specialisation within the Graduate Diploma in Professional Engineering (Chemical Engineering).
Career outcome
This specialisation can support pathways into chemical/process engineering roles by building foundational discipline knowledge for students from other engineering backgrounds. Graduates may pursue opportunities in industries such as minerals and resources, energy, chemicals, and manufacturing, contributing to process development, design and operational improvement. It also provides preparation for progression into the Master of Professional Engineering (Chemical Engineering), a postgraduate route in engineering practice.
