About the course
This diploma prepares you to work as an educator in regulated early childhood education and care services in Australia. You’ll develop skills to design and implement curriculum aligned to approved learning frameworks and support compliance across service operations. The course includes at least 280 hours of supervised workplace practice and may be undertaken as a traineeship with blended delivery options. This is a Diploma in Education & Teaching. The programme develops classroom assistance skills, child development knowledge, and educational support practice.
Career outcome
Graduates may work across early childhood and outside-school-hours settings, supporting children’s learning and wellbeing while meeting regulatory requirements. Typical roles include early childhood educator, group leader, preschool assistant, service director (where appropriate), outside school hours educator/director, home-based educator, nanny, and support worker. Employment is commonly found in long day care, family day care, preschools and kindergartens. This is a Diploma in Education & Teaching.
