About the course
The Diploma in Biomedical Science is a pathway qualification that helps students build academic skills and university experience while studying core biomedical science foundations. It can be completed as a standalone diploma or used to gain credit (up to first-year equivalent) toward ACU’s Bachelor of Biomedical Science and potentially other health science degrees. The program features smaller classes and tailored transition support in a diploma-level biomedical discipline. The programme develops laboratory safety, sample handling, and basic analytical techniques for technical roles.
Career outcome
Graduates may use this diploma as a stepping-stone into the second year of ACU’s Bachelor of Biomedical Science or related health science degrees, strengthening readiness for further study. As a standalone qualification, it can support entry-level roles in health and science environments where foundational biomedical knowledge and lab-ready skills are valued, including assistant or support positions in laboratories, research settings, and healthcare-related organisations at a diploma biomedical level.
