About the course
The Diploma in Animal Ecology introduces animal ecology and conservation through blended learning and field-focused study. You’ll explore biodiversity, human–animal interactions and environmental change while studying marine and terrestrial wildlife. The program includes 8 courses (96 units) and can provide up to 96 units of credit towards UniSC’s Bachelor of Animal Ecology, supporting a pathway into further undergraduate study in environmental science. The programme develops laboratory safety, sample handling, and basic analytical techniques for technical roles.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue entry-level work supporting wildlife and conservation efforts across a range of settings. Typical opportunities include roles with conservation organisations, government and non-government environmental agencies, wildlife management groups, and ecotourism operators. The diploma also supports pathways into environmental education and related nature-based industries, providing a foundation for further study and careers in animal ecology and conservation.
