About the course
This undergraduate certificate introduces key concepts in health sciences and how healthcare operates within culture and society. You’ll explore wellbeing, illness and disability, gain foundations in ethical decision-making, and learn about safety and quality in client-centred care. The course also builds basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology and evidence-informed practice, with flexible part-time study online or on campus. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
What you might learn
You’ll develop core health-science capabilities including applying health concepts across contexts, using critical and creative problem solving, and communicating effectively with patients, carers and health professionals. The course also builds awareness of global health standards, respectful practice incorporating Indigenous perspectives on health, and skills to work professionally in teams and independently while fostering lifelong learning.
