About the course
Build practical skills in photography and digital imaging while developing your creative voice and technical control. You’ll work with studio and location shooting, lighting and post-production workflows, and begin producing a professional portfolio. The program is delivered on campus with industry-relevant projects and feedback to prepare you for work or further study in photography at Certificate IV level in design and visual art. The programme trains digital design tools, visual production, and portfolio development for creative workplaces.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue entry-level roles across commercial and editorial photography, assisting and studio production. Typical pathways include photographic assistant, photographer (portrait, wedding, fashion, advertising, sports), media photographer and photojournalism-related work, supported by a developing portfolio and digital imaging skills. This Certificate IV qualification supports careers and further study in photography within design and visual art. Preparing graduates for junior designer, production assistant, and multimedia support roles, or degree articulation.
