About the course
This apprenticeship qualification prepares you to become a qualified wall and floor tiler in the construction industry. You’ll train to install ceramic, slate, marble, glass and other tiles on internal and external surfaces, creating durable and decorative finishes. The course covers planning and safe work practices, measuring and setting out, and using tile-cutting tools to fit edges, corners and obstacles in new builds and renovations. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.

Graduates can work as wall and floor tilers across residential, commercial and industrial settings. Typical work includes new installations and renovation projects on walls and floors in homes, shops, offices and factories, and on structures such as pools and spas. Completion as part of an apprenticeship supports recognition as a qualified tradesperson in wall and floor tiling within the building and construction industry. Preparing graduates for engineering technician, draftsperson, and technical service roles, or degree articulation.
