About the course
This apprenticeship qualification prepares you to become a trade-qualified stonemason in the construction industry. You’ll develop practical skills working with marble, granite and other stone products to manufacture and finish building components. Training includes using CNC machinery and specialist stonemasonry tools to cut and shape stone for items such as benchtops, fireplaces, mouldings, stairs and memorial work, with workplace-aligned specialisations. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue trade roles in the construction and stone products sector, supporting fabrication, installation and finishing of stone components for residential, commercial and memorial applications. Typical jobs include stonemason and construction mason/finisher, working with workshop and onsite teams using modern equipment such as CNC machinery. This Certificate III supports progression as a qualified stonemason within the building and construction industry. Preparing graduates for engineering technician, draftsperson, and technical service roles, or degree articulation.
