About the course
This Certificate III in Shopfitting is an apprenticeship-focused qualification designed to build trade skills for work in the construction and fit-out sector. You’ll develop capabilities to plan and set out retail fittings, select and use materials, tools and machinery, and fabricate and assemble components for shopfronts and cabinetry. The course also covers surface finishes, workplace health and safety, and job planning to support successful on-site installation in shopfitting. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.
Career outcome
Graduates can work as shopfitters supporting the construction and retail fit-out industry, contributing to the manufacture, assembly and installation of shopfronts, cabinets, counters, wall units and display showcases. Skills developed are suited to trade work on commercial and retail projects, including interpreting job plans, handling tools and machinery safely, and managing materials on site. This Certificate III supports progression as a qualified shopfitter through an apprenticeship pathway.
