About the course
This entry-level course builds specialist timber joinery skills and a broad understanding of the building and construction industry. You’ll train in manufacturing joinery components, including door and window frames, using computer-controlled machinery, and completing installation tasks. Training is delivered by industry-experienced teachers with hands-on guidance toward a Certificate III qualification in joinery. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue work as a timber joiner in residential and commercial construction environments. Typical outcomes include joiner roles focused on general joinery tasks and specialist areas such as stair joinery, manufacturing and assembling timber components, and fitting doors and windows. This Certificate III supports employment as a joiner, including as part of an apprenticeship pathway in joinery and building trades. Preparing graduates for engineering technician, draftsperson, and technical service roles, or degree articulation.
