About the course
This apprenticeship qualification supports you to become a trade-qualified sheet metal worker (first class). You’ll build practical fabrication capability to produce, manufacture and repair a wide range of light metal products used across manufacturing and construction. Training emphasises job-ready trade skills guided by industry-expert teachers. This is a Certificate III programme in engineering fabrication (sheetmetal working). The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.

Graduates can work as sheetmetal trades workers, including progressing to sheetmetal worker (first class). Roles typically involve manufacturing and repairing light metal products such as ducting, equipment, cabinets, tanks and pipework for industries like manufacturing, construction and technical services. This Certificate III qualification supports entry and progression in engineering fabrication and sheetmetal trades. Preparing graduates for engineering technician, draftsperson, and technical service roles, or degree articulation.
