About the course
This Certificate III builds entry-level trade skills in cabinet making and timber technology, and can be completed as an apprenticeship while you work. You’ll learn to make and repair timber products using solid timber and panel materials, following processes from design through to production. Training includes manual and computer-aided drawings, safe use of power tools and wood machines, and completing jobs to time and cost requirements in cabinetmaking and timber work. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across manufacturing, construction and related wood trades. Typical outcomes include working as a cabinetmaker (including furniture or kitchen and bathroom fit-outs), solid timber machinist, wood machinist, machining technician, or wood trades worker.
