About the course
This dual qualification combines foundational animal care with specialised veterinary nursing skills to help you start a career working with animals. You’ll build core capabilities in animal handling, hygiene, nutrition, identification and client communication, then progress to clinical vet nursing including surgical preparation, anaesthesia monitoring, hospital patient support, pathology, imaging support and dental procedures, with practical work experience. This is a Certificate I–IV pathway in Veterinary Science.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for entry-level work in animal care and veterinary settings, supporting day-to-day animal wellbeing and assisting veterinary teams with clinical and hospital tasks. Career pathways typically include roles such as veterinary nurse (trainee/assistant level depending on local requirements), animal attendant or animal care worker in veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, shelters and related services. This is a Certificate I–IV qualification in Veterinary Science.
