About the course
This hands-on entry-level qualification builds practical skills and technical knowledge to service and repair agricultural vehicles and equipment. Training covers safe workshop practice, workplace communication, electrical and electronic systems, engine service and repair, transmissions, cooling systems, clutches and braking systems, and diesel fuel systems. You’ll learn in large-scale workshops with current industry technology, supporting job-ready capability in agricultural mechanical work at Certificate III level.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue work servicing and repairing farm vehicles and agricultural machinery, supporting dealerships, workshops, contractors and on-farm operations. Typical roles include Automotive Mechanic and Agricultural Mechanical Technician, with skills suited to diagnosing faults, maintaining diesel and mechanical systems, and completing repairs to industry standards. Completion may also support trade recognition when undertaken as part of an apprenticeship in agricultural mechanical technology at Certificate III level.
