About the course
This trade qualification prepares you for carpentry work in residential and commercial settings. You’ll develop practical skills in setting out, manufacturing, constructing, assembling, installing and repairing products using timber and non-timber materials. The course can be undertaken as an apprenticeship and is delivered face-to-face with block attendance. It is a Certificate III qualification in the building and construction trades. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.

Graduates can seek employment in carpentry across the building and construction industry, supporting projects in residential and commercial workplaces. Typical roles include commercial carpenter, formwork carpenter and residential carpenter, undertaking tasks such as framing, installation and repair work using a range of materials. This Certificate III supports entry to trade employment pathways in carpentry within Architecture & Building. Preparing graduates for engineering technician, draftsperson, and technical service roles, or degree articulation.
