About the course
This Certificate IV qualification prepares you to provide recovery-oriented support for people affected by mental illness and psychiatric disability. You’ll learn to implement community-based mental health programs and activities across settings such as NGOs, outreach and home-based support, residential and respite services, rehabilitation and clinical environments, and employment support. Work is undertaken autonomously under broad professional guidance in the mental health support field at Certificate IV level.
Career outcome
Graduates may work in community and outreach mental health support roles delivering programs and assisting people to live and participate in the community. Employment settings include non-government organisations, residential and respite services, rehabilitation and centre-based programs, and home-based outreach.
