About the course

This in-person graduate certificate responds to growing demand for data analytics and AI skills across industries. It introduces practical approaches to sourcing, managing and analysing data to improve decisions and outcomes. Students study a focused set of courses spanning computing, statistics and social science methods, preparing them to work with data in varied domains such as public health, policy, education and business services.

What you might learn

You will build foundations in applied data analytics by developing skills in handling real-world data, database concepts and programming, and using statistical techniques to model and interpret results. The program emphasises working with diverse data sources and methods to answer practical questions, communicate insights and support evidence-based decisions, drawing on computing, statistics and (optionally) policy-oriented social research approaches.

Career outcome

Graduates may pursue entry-level or transitioning roles that use data to support decision-making across government, consulting, education, health, finance and business services. Typical pathways include data analyst, analytics officer, junior business intelligence analyst, research or policy evaluation analyst, and roles supporting data-driven operations. The combination of computing and statistics foundations supports work with multidisciplinary teams across varied domains.
