About the course
The Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Leadership is a short postgraduate course designed for public sector managers and professionals to strengthen leadership and policy capability. In as little as 6 months full-time (or part-time equivalent), you study contemporary governance, stakeholder engagement, policy making and digital practices relevant to government and public institutions. The course can provide credit for eligible IPAA training and may pathway into further public policy study.
Career outcome
Graduates can use this qualification to move into or progress within leadership and policy-focused roles across Commonwealth, state and local government, and organisations that work closely with government. The course supports capability in governance, managing programs and policy development, and leading teams through change. Potential roles include governance manager, policy manager, program manager, executive director or chief operating officer in public and not-for-profit settings. Preparing graduates for senior management, consulting, entrepreneurship, and organisational leadership roles.
Entry requirements
3+ years relevant work experience or a bachelor's degree.
