About the course

This Graduate Certificate in Public Health provides an introductory pathway into contemporary public health practice. You’ll build foundational knowledge across core public health topics and learn practical techniques to analyse population health problems, including disease burden and determinants of health. Taught by experienced practitioners and researchers, the program links theory with real-world application and can provide credit towards further study in public health at postgraduate level.

Career outcome

Graduates can pursue roles across government and non-government public health settings, applying skills in population health analysis and health promotion. Career pathways include work in public health units, Local Health Districts, and state or Commonwealth departments, as well as positions in NGOs and international development or humanitarian agencies. The qualification also supports progression to further postgraduate study, including the Master of Public Health in the public health discipline.
