About the course

The Graduate Certificate in Journalism (Advanced) is associated with the Master of Journalism and provides a professionally focused stream of study in journalism. Four core compulsory subjects develop critical and technical skills, complemented by journalism-related electives that extend capabilities across contemporary reporting contexts. The course also offers opportunities to study other advanced subjects linked to journalism practice.

What you might learn

Students build core journalistic competencies through advanced training in news gathering, story construction and reporting techniques. The course develops critical thinking and technical skills needed to produce journalism for different platforms and audiences. It also strengthens the ability to reflect on and address writing and editorial challenges in print and digital media.
