About the course
The Graduate Certificate in Aboriginal Studies is a part-time postgraduate program designed for people working with, or alongside, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. It builds understanding of Aboriginal history, culture, spirituality and politics, and explores contemporary issues including reconciliation. Delivered in a flexible blended mode, it includes opportunities for intensive learning at the Broome Campus to deepen on-Country insight in Aboriginal Studies at graduate certificate level.
Career outcome
Graduates develop cultural and historical understanding that supports work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across community and professional settings. The qualification can strengthen practice in sectors such as health promotion, medicine, justice, education and social work, and is relevant for roles within local, State or Federal government and NGOs. It provides graduate-level capability for culturally informed engagement and policy or service delivery connected to Aboriginal Studies.
