About the course
This program develops the knowledge and practical skills to plan cities and regional towns, balancing growth with environmental and social outcomes. You’ll study land use, urban design, transport and infrastructure, heritage conservation, resource management, policy and planning law. Studio and project-based work builds capability through real planning projects with community and industry partners. This is a Bachelor Degree in urban planning within the built environment. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for planning roles across government, private consulting and community organisations, working on urban and regional development from site design to strategic planning. Career paths commonly include urban planner, strategic/statutory planner, transport and infrastructure planner, environmental or heritage planning officer, and policy or development assessment roles. This is a Bachelor Degree pathway into professional practice in urban planning and the built environment.
