Bachelor of Urban Planning (Honours)

About the course

This honours program develops advanced urban planning knowledge to help communities, companies and governments balance environmental, economic and social needs. You’ll build capability in land use, transport, infrastructure and urban design, alongside sustainability, community consultation and strategic town planning. Through industry- and community-linked projects and a research project, you’ll strengthen planning theory, design skills and understanding of legislative frameworks in a Bachelor Degree / Honours Degree in urban planning.

Career outcome

Graduates are prepared for professional urban and regional planning work across government, consultancies and the development sector. Career paths include urban planner, strategic/town planner, transport and land-use planner, infrastructure planning officer, community engagement planner, and sustainability or policy roles supporting place-making and long-range development. The accredited Bachelor Degree / Honours Degree supports professional recognition for careers in urban planning and the built environment.
