About the course
This undergraduate extension specialisation is designed for chemical engineering students who want to build capability in energy engineering and understand pathways for industry’s transition to renewable energy. You’ll study natural gas processing, electrochemical energy storage and conversion, and green hydrogen production via renewable-powered electrolysis, plus materials selection to manage corrosion. It develops skills to critically analyse and evaluate energy-transition challenges in chemical engineering contexts.
Career outcome
Graduates can complement a chemical engineering degree with energy-transition expertise relevant to roles across energy and process industries. Career pathways may include process or energy engineering support in natural gas processing, hydrogen and electrolyser projects, energy storage and conversion technologies, and materials/corrosion-focused operations.
