About the course
The Bachelor of Textiles (Design) (Honours) at RMIT is a one-year full-time honours program that helps you deepen your creative textile practice while building research capability. You’ll refine a specialised area in textiles and design through advanced studio-based exploration and critical enquiry, supported by academic supervision and industry context. This honours year prepares you for advanced practice or further study in design. The programme develops design, animation, visual storytelling, and digital media production for creative industries.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Textiles (Design) (Honours) may pursue roles across textile and fashion-related design industries, applying advanced creative and research skills to develop innovative materials, surfaces and products. Career directions can include textile designer, knitwear and print designer, materials or product designer, fashion designer, illustrator or trend forecaster. This honours qualification can also support progression to higher degrees in design and visual art. Preparing graduates for graphic design, multimedia production, advertising, and creative studio roles.
