About the course
This course introduces the science and technology behind aviation for students interested in aeronautics and an engineering pathway. You’ll study aircraft systems, materials and manufacturing technology, aircraft design, and aircraft operation, while building insight into aircraft performance from an aviation technologist perspective. Depending on electives, graduates may progress to a Master of Engineering specialising in Mechanical Engineering. This is a Level 7 bachelor qualification in aviation.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles supporting the aviation and aerospace sector, applying knowledge of aircraft systems, design, materials and operations. Career paths may include aviation technologist or technical roles in aircraft maintenance support, operations and performance analysis, manufacturing and production environments, and aviation-related engineering support. The degree can also provide a pathway to further study towards accredited engineering qualifications. This is a bachelor-level preparation for aviation-focused technical careers.
