This first-year stream groups foundational software development units that can be taken within several Curtin undergraduate degrees. You’ll build core programming and problem-solving skills and begin learning how software is designed and developed in real-world contexts. The stream offers flexibility to align early study with a range of computing and related degree pathways at Curtin University in IT & Computer Science. The programme builds programming, systems thinking, and data skills for technology-driven industries and startups.

This first-year software development stream helps you start building skills that support future roles in the software and technology sector once completed within an eligible Curtin bachelor degree.
