About the course
The Bachelor of Social Work at UniSC prepares you to support individuals, groups and communities through complex social issues, grounded in human rights, social justice and ethical practice. You’ll learn through academic study and extensive work practice, and complete two field education placements totalling 1000 hours across varied settings. This is a fully AASW-accredited bachelor program leading to professional social work practice. The programme explores human behaviour, research methods, and applied psychology for community and organisational settings.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across government and community services, supporting people and communities through advocacy, case management and policy-informed practice. Career pathways include work in Centrelink and income support services, child protection, disability services (including schools), health and mental health services, and policy development roles. This Bachelor of Social Work is an entry qualification for professional practice in social work. Preparing graduates for human resources support, community services, and psychology-related graduate pathways.
