About the course
This professionally accredited Bachelor of Social Work prepares you for entry-level practice as a social worker, grounded in social justice and human rights. You’ll develop contemporary practice approaches including anti-oppressive, decolonised and trauma-informed frameworks, supported by core social work theories, methods and skills. The course also builds foundations in Indigenous world views, sociology, politics, human development and social research, with elective options and an optional embedded Honours pathway in social work.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue social work roles across diverse community and human services settings, supporting individuals, families, groups and communities. Career pathways include client-facing practice and casework, child and family welfare, mental health and health services, youth work, homelessness, domestic and family violence, disability, and alcohol and other drugs services. Opportunities may also extend to service coordination/management, community development, advocacy, policy and strategy roles within the social work sector.
